• No, it's not independently powered. It needs to be connected to a separate receiver that is attached to the TV.

• No, an AV receiver or amp is needed to be able to use this speaker. It is definitely worth it to buy one to use this!

• This speaker does not come with speaker wire so you will have run your own length of wire to the source. If your TV has "+" & "-" posts for sound output then yes. Otherwise I don't see how you can because there are no HDMI or Optical plugs on this speaker.
