• I don't see any reason why you couldn't. It doesn't specifically mention the speakers to be only for the rear.

• Hi ElCid, Yes, the SSCS5 works perfectly fine with STRDH590. We also recommend using speaker wires that are anywhere between 12 to 16 gauge. These are most commonly used for connecting speakers to an amplifier or an Audio/Video (A/V) receiver. Happy to help, David
