Hi Cat7, Thank you for your question. The Sony's SS-CS5 Bookshelf Speakers are passive speakers that uses bare speaker wires for connection. They need to be powered by an external amplifier or Audio/Video (A/V) receiver to use. If your receiver has a special port for passive speaker connections & supports a rated impedance of 6 ohms, then these speakers should work. Please check with your device manufacturers' information to confirm the compatibility.
