“I have a Yamaha RX-V481 receiver, rated at 145 watts/channel. These speakers are rated at the same exact 145 watts. I like to listen VERY LOUD when I can. Will these speakers sound okay and perform well, even at the stated maximum watts/channel?”

Short answer No. They distort at loud volume.Documentation with the speakers says to not play them at distortion levels.I would advise to spend more money on your speakers than these.I ran 100 watts per channel at them and am mystified at the glowing reviews.They are starter towers that are better than tv speakers.That's about it.
