“usb connectivity i understand that there is a usb connection. however; is this to connect for the battery for power or is it to upload to a computer to actually send to a transcriptionist or at least have it stored on the computer? I purchased one that the usb is simply to charge the battery.”

USB for the ICDUX512 serves as both data transfer AND charging. if you are looking for options to charge without a computer might we suggest an AC-U501AD USB Power Supply Adapter.
