• No , it does show whether or not it has a card in it with a little symbol, but it will take pictures without the card in it, there will just be none available to review or download.

• No and it's not a SD card, it's the SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo (old technology).

• No internal memory. I have a high speed 64gb card in mine.

• It will do a few, but you need a memory card, the amount of information in each picture requires a large memory card if you want room for a lot of pictures.
