“Will this work for big group shots without it looking so far away? I have a Sony A300 and have the 18-70mm and 70-300mm.....I am looking for something with zoom and wide angle that will allow me to have crisper pictures then the optical I have, yet be able to capture a whole wedding party without them looking like small???”

The 55-200 is a wider angle lens than the 70-300 but not as wide as the 18-200. The lens zoom is adjustable so you can adjust the zoom to accommodate the width of your desired shot. If you stay with the same lens without switching them out you may have to rearrange your group to get everyone in using this lens.
