“Do you need a HDMI CORD for this DVD player I have a 55 inch tv it is top of line and it is 1080 I just want best DVD player to watch movies on and play my music cd on Do not need blu ray player at all. Thanks”

• Use the 5 wire component cables and enable Progressive scan if your TV can use component, hdmi is not necessary with this model, the picture is very good with store bought DVDs

• This unit does not have an HDMI port. It does have the ports for the RCA connector set (red,white,yellow), a set of which comes with the unit. We have 2 of these. hooked up to a 32" and 42" HDTV - w have no problems with DVD playing, and I wouldn't anticipate any problems with CD playing, either.

• You do not need an HDMI chord to connect this player. It comes with standard 3 pin connectors (red & white - audio, yellow - video).
