• If that TV lacks component or composite inputs , that means you must get a hdmi upconverting player because it lacks upconversion circuits so you must buy any player with a hdmi output , also buy a hdmi cable

• While not an expert by any means. The model DVD player I purchased has HDMI and RCA connectors, so I'd say yes.
