It does have RCA audio output, Dolby AC3 coaxial audio output , and does send audio/video on the HDMI cable as well. If you use your audio receiver to switch your video input you can use any of the modes provided you have the pass through feature to the TV. You need to have a screen to see what the player is doing, since it does not have a display. Everything has to be done on a TV screen , you could hook up A HDMI cable to the TV, and run the audio RCA cables to the stereo, but you need to see the screen to know what track you are on, whether you are playing or paused etc.
