“If I get this HDMI cable and dvd player do I have to connect it to my xfinity cable box or can it connect directly to the TV without having to go through the cable box. Would like something that just connects to the TV. Our TV has HDMI Ports.”

Please try again later.I don't have a cable box.I use antennas for broadcast stations and Rokus and Blue Ray player to stream.I plugged the DVD player into my tv using a HDMI cable and it worked real well.Can't answer your question about your xfinity cable box.Their site has a question and answer section,that may help you out.
