Will this play .avi files? null

AVI files should be converted to a DVD using a video authoring application to play on most DVD players. A search for video authoring software at either the Best Buy web site or with a general internet search will provide a number of choices for that type of software.

.AVI files are not supported in the Sony DVPSR510H DVD Player. The supported file formats are: Video: MPEG-1 (Cyber-shot data) Photo: JPEG (DCF format) Music: MP3 (except for mp3PRO) / WMA (except for WMA Pro) / AAC / LPCM / WAVE Supported extensions: “.mpg”, “.mpeg”, “.jpg”, “.mp3”, “.wma”, “.m4a”, “.wav”. Note that files with copyright protection (Digital Right Management) cannot be played. This Sony DVD Player does not play coded files such as Lossless.
