You can. But your crop factor will be reduced to 10mp . I use the Sony A7 series cameras with the FE 70-300mm lens. For the best results, full frame lenses for full frame cameras. There are "third party lenses" less expensive that may help you decide on the type of images you the shooting.

Yes, it will work, however, this lens is for the a6??? series which crops the photo slightly. The a7III is a full frame camera, so at a point you will see a ring of sorts around your pictures, when zooming.
