Yes. It will work, auto focus and all the electronics will work. Since the a6300 has a crop sensor, you will be 1.5x zoomed in as will every other lens on a cropped sensor. To fully take advantage of this 85mm lens you will need a full frame camera such as the a7 series. This is a good purchase if you plan on upgrading to full frame one day.

Yes, I use it on my a6500 with no issues. Realize that on a crop sensor camera such as the a6300/a6500, the angle of view of this lens is about 127mm. Still a good portrait range.
