If you're far from the court then this length isn't the best option. The 70-200mm fe f2.8 lens will allow more close up shots while sitting farther away. If you'll be taking shots while close to the court primarily for one area of action around the area you're sitting then the 24-70mm f2.8 you're inquiring about will do great. As for hunting and low light shooting for 24-70mm emount lens options currently available this lens is the best option to help minimize hunting and provide a better photo capturing opportunity.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The lens works spectacular. I use it on a Sony A7Rii in my gym where there’s lots of action with Box Jumps, Running etc.. Not sure what camera you’re using. I got this lens for the same reason, the f2.8 where in the gym can have lower light. Works way better than the Sony FE24-70mm 3.5-5.6 hands down
