• I wouldn't use it in the front rows for action shots, but if you are at a distance, it will be fine. The auto focus is slow at times, but if you are at a distance the infinity makes it usable. This camcorder has issues with the focal points when objects are close and moving fast. I can video faster focus with my full frame camera, but I bought this for those events that are more than 30 mins long.

• I use my Sony AX53 to film equestrian events and works great. Great camera and excellent optical zoom. Can’t go wrong with a Sony.
