Hi Interestedbuyer3, thank you for your questions! We're happy to help. Regarding your first question, you do not need a smart TV to hook up the HT-S400 soundbar. It can connect to any TV with an HDMI ARC port or an optical audio input. As for HDMI inputs, the HT-S400 has one HDMI output (ARC). This means it's designed to connect to your TV via a single HDMI cable using the Audio Return Channel (ARC) feature. It does not have additional HDMI inputs for connecting other devices directly to the soundbar itself. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your Tv has to have bluetooth out capability or ARC hdmi or optical sound out. The sound bar has 1 hdmi port and Bluetooth in capability as well as an optical in port.
