yes it's called a harness and you give them the make you're in model of your car they'll find the harness and you just match the wires to the wires in the back of the radio with black tape and you connect your harness to the car's harness I could installed it myself as a female but I chose to get the lifetime warranty through The geek squad cuz I got the extended warranty on my radio but yes you can install yourself if you choose to
