“would these headphones cancel the noise from a riding lawn mower with the blade engaged? my little mp3 player is not loud enough with earbuds on. I can barely hear the music. if not, any reccomendations? thank you”

yes they do. I use them when I mow grass with my riding mower, push mower, and weed trimmer.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A riding lawn mower would definitely overwhelm these low cost noise cancellation headphones. They don't cover the full ear so the engine noise would definitely make its way into your ear.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The noise canceling isn’t the best. These aren’t Bose (but they don’t cost $300 either). Not sure if even Bose would cancel out your engine noise. You may want to look at Lowe’s or Home Depot (or Amazon) for noise PROTECTION to muffle out the engine noise. Some are made with built-in speakers for both radio and Bluetooth inputs. I used to have some when I worked on my yard.
