The headphones included do have a microphone built in but its not very good. They are like the ones that come with new iPhone's but cheaper. If you want to hear things well and have people understand you I would invest in a pair of nicer headphones.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's a very "basic" plastic earpiece with a microphone. It will get you started, but it doesn't sit well in most ears. It's a decent backup. You can use your headphones from your cell phone or better yet, just buy something cheap like the Insignia PS4 headphone for around $25.

Please try again later.a single headpiece with a microphone that plugs into your controller it is used for game chat party chat and is used for some ps4 voice controls as it comes with the system and works fine but you can always look up other headsets if you prefer just look for what connection they use and it must say ps4 compatible remember great USB headphones still need to be plugged into the ps4 and you want to make sure cord is long enough as I don't recommend cord extenders for good equipment as it ruins some audio and connection sometimes probably way more than you wanted to know but I'd sure like to have the info if I was pondering using the free one or buying a more stylish or stronger headset.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would really prefer the astro a50 or the astro a40 over most brands. Titan and turtle beach are also good ones. The one earphones and mic are not that good at communicating. I currently have the ps4 gold headset.
