That's what I did. Got frustrating. Made it all the way to the final step of confirming payment only to realize that the console was deleted by BestBuy to get me to this step. I had the worst pre-order experience with Best Buy and will likely not shop for games... here again.

Hi, they were a complete mess. Although I secured my preorder, I was on the site from maybe 7 or 8pm until 2:30 am. I just continued to push the confirm order button until it went through and I paid through PayPal. If there is a next round, please just keep going. I was gonna quit at 1 but kept going and got it. Good luck friends.

Same here. It is because ruthless scalpers who know techs {or whatever you want to call them} know how to, "like the person said get in through the back door".

The same thing happened to me.....I had gotten the email weeks back and clicked the pre-order button. On the BB site it let me choose which model I wanted and put it in my cart. It would not let me do any further actions. I checked today and it was GONE from my cart and now I have to wait like everyone else.

I noticed the same, I made it all the way through the order, placed the order, received the confirmation email and then Best Buy canceled the order!

Keeps asking for a verification code that was emailed and never gets sent no matter how many times I reset why ask if your not going to send it? Also why not offer future purchase dates or reopen pre-orders if currently out of stock ?

The scalpers use bot software especially on Target & Best Buy; If people won't buy them for extra $$$ people wouldn't do it. I hope these scalpers get stuck.

Let's be honest here, there was a shortage that Sony denies plus factor in all of the people who rushed to preorder to get one with the sole purpose of reselling it on ebay for twice what they paid or more to try to cash in on the craze just like they do on cellphones. With high demand basically all stores sold more preorders only to find out they won't be getting that many and had to cancel many orders. It is not something bestbuy did or tried to do it is basically demand was much greater than supply. Best bet is to keep checking all the places and see who gets the green light to take more preorders first.

unfortunately with the website you have to just repeatedly keep clicking purchase until it goes through because of the volume they give best buy and the amount of customers trying to purchase at the same time. Thats how its happened with the first 2 waves of every console pre-order since ive worked at BB. They are also limiting pre-orders to 1 per customer to try and prevent scalpers. It will be the same for launch day it will ONLY be 1 per customer.

I tried 5 times to get the PS5 from Walmart and had it in my cart 3 times . I had nothing until I went on the internet around 4 am went on Best Buy site and 45 minutes a lot of refreshing I had one in my cart! I am currently playing it on my LG OLED 65 inch TV which I also got from BEST BUY !!! I must also mention that the drive up pick up was the best shopping experience since covid. Thanks Best Buy for everything you guys do I hope that all your employees stay safe THANKS BEST BUY

Bestbuy is pretty much on its way out the door. Its taking the path of Circuit City...Actually SONY is responsible for the mess up but Best Buy will probably be non existent in the next few years. Same thing with GameStop

Have to be dedicated to that F5 button. If you are not, you will fail. It's called dedication, but still even then it's based a lot on luck on WHEN you can squeeze threw that server lag.. Don't hate on BB just because you did not get lucky enough/was not fast enough with spamming F5 or even having a slow PC. Guess hater's gonna hate though.
