Can this remote wake the PS5 if its sleeping? null

Yes it can. You just hit the ‘PS’ button on the bottom of the remote just like you would on the DualSense. You can also use it for searching on the PS Store, use it to navigate your interface, change settings, etc. It can do everything but play games.
