• they are the same i was told, if your batteries don't last long buy a recharger and that may help in fully charging your controller and give you more playing time.

• To the best of my knowledge the battery life is better, that's about it. The older units batteries will have degraded by now.

• They are exactly the same. One of my original ones battery had died, so I had to buy this two pack (thats how they getcha).
