You need a PS4 to use PSVR but the PS Pro is coming in November and might run PS VR better but it is not required.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Playstation VR is an add-on device for your existing PS4, PS4 slim, or PS4 Pro. The core model comes with the headset, a demo disc, a set of in-ear headphones, and an additional box that splits the signal coming from the PS4 console to the VR headset and the television. On the wire that goes to the VR headset is a port to plug the included headphones or any other headphones that will accept a 3.5mm cord. I've not had a clear answer as to if the PSVR will deliver sound without the headphones or if they are simply there to add to the immersion. The Playstation VR device will not work without a PS4 based console. There have been no announcements of the Playstation VR headset working with any other device other than a PS4 based console.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There were 2 separate boxed units (SKUs) available for pre order for Playstation VR. The Playstation VR Launch Bundle is a complete bundle that was designed for folks that don't have any of the peripherals available for Playstation 4 already. The Launch Bundle comes with: The Playstation VR Headset A Playstation 4 Camera 2 Playstation Move Controllers A Playstation VR Demo Disc The Playstation VR Core Bundle was created for those of us that already have some, or all, of the peripherals and don't want to pay for something we don't need. The Core Bundle comes with: The Playstation VR Headset A Playstation VR Demo Disc Both of these launch in October! Hope this clears up any confusion.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Same system (PS4) the VR set will be an addition to it as peripherals. The PS4 was originally build to handle the kind of graphic processing that VR requires. So nothing would change other than the game formation, the addition to the VR set, camera and controllers.
