It's better for picking up faint stations because you can manually fine tune it, but it's slower to tune between powerful stations because it doesn't automatically "lock" on to stations like a digital tuner would. If you mostly listen to one station, the lack of digital locking shouldn't matter too much. This is not an "HD" digital radio, if that was your question.
