• There is a traditional back side slide down compartment. My suggestion is to use your thumb along the arrow with light pressure.

• Push down on the battery door, at the 2 lines and arrow. Pull battery lid more to the bottom of the radio. Lift up the battery door, which exposes the batteries. Make sure that they are in the correct order, Plus to Plus = Negative to Negative in the radio.

• hold radio speaker side down down in palm of hands , push down on the slide with the arrow on it with both thumbs. If it does not open it is defective in some way
