Hi! Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Digital Voice Recorder. The Sony ICD-PX370 voice recorder can be powered using two AAA batteries, which are inserted into the battery compartment. Additionally, it contains a USB connector compartment that allows you to connect the recorder to a computer using a USB cord for data transfer. However, the USB slot does not serve as a charging port for the recorder's batteries. Therefore, you can't charge the recorder using a USB cord; it operates only with AAA batteries. But, our model ICD-UX570 offers the option to connect the USB connector to an USB AC adaptor to charge it. Best regards, - Stephanie
