Hi, Linda, To find the music or recording you want to play, you may select 'Music” or “ Recorded Files' from the Home menu. From there, you can select a file search category then select a list or folder from the search results, and then select a file: http://helpguide.sony.net/icd/p37/v1/en/contents/TP0001170674.html The recorder does not come with an SD card and it is user-friendly.
