The "Voice Operated Recording" function actually activates on any sound, so it could record when dogs bark. However, there has to be silence for about 3 sec. in order for it to stop recording. The only date and time stamps are relative to when the recording started, and when recording resumes. For example, if recording started at 10am, and dogs barked at 11am, the time stamp in the recording will show dogs barking at only 3-5 sec from the beginning of the file. It will not show an absolute date and time. The file date and time is when you pressed the record button.
