Scott, Yes, you can use other Sony batteries with the same prefix but using a higher number. The number relates to the run time. A higher number will give you more run time. The battery you have sounds like it came with the camera - which is typical, and usually hard to find. Best Buy will have other Sony batteries you can use with your camera.

Call Batteries & Bulbs...give them the part number of the battery and they can suggest a replacement that will be compatible and they guarantee it. If it doesn't work, you get your money back and they also offer some guarantee on the product they sell you if it fails in the future to replace it with a new one. I use them for all my electronic battery needs. I never bought a light bulb for them though...lol!!! Good luck!
