Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It seems that BBishop may not have understood the question. I have the same question. Can my family hear the TV audio while I listen through my headphones or does plugging the unit in shut off the TV speakers as do Bluetooth headphones with most Smart TVs? If I connect my Bluetooth headphones to the Smart TV it turns off the audio for others in the room. Only I can hear and it is through my headphones. (Further rhetorical question - what were Smart TV designers thinking when they set up "Smart?" TVs so that it turns off the audio speakers when you connect bluetooth headphones?! Shouldn't they have given you a choice to allow the speakers to continue or shut off. )
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you mean can you still hear other noise in the room while wearing them, then, No. The headphones cancel a lot of the other noise in the room. These are great for my husband, who is hard of hearing. I sometimes put them on to block out other noise in the room.
