Hi Dougie, Thank you so much for your inquiry! The SA-SW5 is designed to support our HT-A9 Home Theater System, HT-A7000, HT-A5000, HT-A3000, and HT-ST2000 Soundbars. These audio system can connect wirelessly to Sony's optional speakers including the wireless rear speakers SA-RS5 and SA-RS3S and optional wireless subwoofers SA-SW5 and SA-SW3. Two subwoofer choices (SA-SW3 and SA-SW5) and a set of rear speakers (SA-RS3S and SA-RS5) are optional equipment designed to help you enhance the immersion of your content. The wireless subwoofer and rear speaker accessories take out any guesswork of connecting, as they automatically pair to these audio system once they are powered on. Regards, Jess
