• This is the perfect lens to start with. 55mm is the perfect distance to capture single subjects, as well as group portraits.

• This is a great lens. The AF is really fast and the images are crisp. I use this as my video lens. Being your only lens you will be limited to only being able to shoot at 55mm. Another lens I would consider would be the Sony - FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Standard Zoom Lens. It lets you shoot between 24-105mm. It is bigger and heavier but gives you a wider range of shots. If you are good with having just a 55mm prime lens you won't be disappointed.
