“Does this have internal focusing or does the barrel move in and out when changing focus?”

Internal, it does not move

Hi bigbrute, the lens has a linear focus motor and internal focus design for fast and responsive AF performance. There will be no barrel move in and out while the lens is working to achieve the focus.
