just go to settings/connections/bluetooth on your phone. Make sure you have fully charged the speaker before trying to pair, tho. Then, turn speaker off - wait a min, and turn it back on/power on. When all that is done, put both phone and speaker nearby one another (like, on the same desk/table top), and simply hold the down the power button on speaker (the button with a white light) which puts it (speaker) into pairing mode. if your phone doesn't immediately detect it, promptly switch your phone bluetooth on and off while speaker (white / power button) is still flashing. I had to try a cpl times, but upon pairing it for the first time, its super easy/no real effort, hence forward.
