“I was wondering if this device can play musice from a usb flash drive? I have a Sony XB-90 and it does, I was looking for a travel alternative which has this feature as I do take it out of wifi range so phone becomes somewhat limited.”

Hi Jeff, thank you for inquiring about the XB33. We're sorry but the SRS-XB33 speaker does not support USB function. If you want to play music, you can use your smartphone and connect it via Bluetooth connection. Regards, Erin

The usb C is only for charging the speaker and the usb type A is for charging another device. They don't play any usb memory or sd card.
