Hi Mel, Thank you for the inquiry! Yes, you can connect your SS-CS5 Bookshelf speaker. For turntable connection, it must support phono input so you can directly connect it to this AV receiver. If a phono input is not available, the turntable must have a built-in amplifier or an in-line amplifier must be used to connect the turntable to another input on the stereo system.
