“Can I use this receiver to power my rear surround sound speakers only. My thinking is if I come out of the swa-8500s into the receiver. Then out to the speakers would allow me to increase the sound level for the rear speakers only? Any feedback would hel”

Hi Mike, Thanks for your inquiry. If your rear surround sound speakers can directly connect via regular speaker wires to the speaker ports of this receiver then yes, you can connect them. Please make sure that the impedance level of your speakers is within 6-16 ohms. Hope this helps! -Sam
