Hi Joe, Thank you for the inquiry! Do not install the AV receiver in a confined space, such as a bookcase or built-in cabinet.The reception might be poor depending on the location. Place the receiver in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent heat buildup and prolong the life of the receiver. Regards, David
