Hi Alto, Thanks for inquiring about the STR-DH790 7.2ch Home Theater AV Receiver. The STR-DH790 does not support all the features associated with HDMI 2.1. It will support eARC, 4K 60p and HDR (High Dynamic Range) contents pass-through, but it will not support 4K 120p, VRR, and ALLM. eARC is a new function standardized by HDMI 2.1 and supports latest audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, or multi-channel LPCM content that cannot be transmitted with the ARC function. Update the AV receiver software to get this function. I hope this helps! -Jess
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If one of the hdmi outputs on your receiver is marked earc it supports hdmi 2.1. If it is marked arc and not earc, there is a firmware update on the Sony support site that you download and transfer to a flashdrive. Insert flashdrive in usb port on back of receiver to update firmware to support earc.
