• Hi Edward, Yes, this unit can play 4K MKV files from the USB port. Also, the TV will output 4K resolution if a 4K movie is being played. Thanks! ^Ron

• I use an HDMI port off my receiver, i do not use the USB port. sorry can't be more help. Ray Bags
