The 1000es is for 3-D TVs. That is the main difference. It also has rca connections for more audio options. This is the top of the line Sony blu-ray. But if you don’t need 3-D, and you don’t need rca connections then I would suggest the X800. It is the finest blu Ray player I have ever owned.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The main differences appear to be that the X1000 has a few more outputs on the back (you can view the images of each at the BB website) and the X1000 - being part of the Sony ES or Elevated Standard line - comes with a 5 year warranty. I find the X800 has more features than I need, but I'm on my second one right now - the first was defective out of the box so I had to exchange it at Best Buy; so far, the replacement seems to be working OK.
