“Is SONY working on a UBP-X800 VUDU UHD 4K Streaming App update (firmware)? Seems funny (not really $'s) that Amazon and Netflix got their 4K App's first. I have always owned Sony players but I might have to consider other brands in the future.”

Clearly, for them, the question isn't understood. I've heard nothing about them updating vudu to support UHD on this player.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. I’ve read that there is a security issue with the player that VUDU says is why it isn’t supported. Although VUDU did update the Sony TVs apps for UHD recently. Probably doesn’t help that this player is very inconsistent. When it isn’t locking up requiring a complete unplug to reboot, it does well. The lock ups are unacceptable, as is streaming apps not being updated.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Streaming in UltraHD 4K with the UBP-X800 content has been fine. Run the updater manually or set it to auto-update. I haven't had any problems watching 4K Streaming content. The apps come from the providers and the player checks for updates as long as it is successfully connected to your Internet service. Check it for IP and run the Internet test. No problems streaming 4K content or with 4K BluRay discs.
