Yes. I have a non 4k TV. The picture quality of my HD DVDs, as well as Netflix, is excellent( obviously, it cannot display 4K picture on a non 4K TV), and because this unit has 2 HDMI ports, you can connect the unit directly to the TV and then connect it as well directly to a soundbar. That means that not only do you DVDs have theater sound, with the built in Internet, Netflix movie sound is also theater quality.
