Yes it will upconvert to 4k. You'll want to choose the auto 2 option in the settings. I would hardwire ethernet for the best results. Otherwise you don't necessarily need 18 to 22. No need to spend that much on Monster cables. Pick up some certified 4k cables from Monoprice. Look for the orange bar code certified 4*4*4 color ones.

If you are referring to internet speed, we recommend getting 25mbps and up for you to be able to stream 4K content from its apps. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It does upscale Blu Ray to 4K SDR. One note on 4k players, cable selection is important. Make sure your cable supports a bandwidth of at least 18 GBPS to see a 4k picture on your TV. Most of the cheaper cables do not. I use 48 GBPS myself.
