“I am in dire need of a new blu ray player. But currently only have a Samsung smart tv should I get the 4k player now as I do eventually plan on get a 4k tv this calendar year. Does it make sense to get the 4k player now or just get a basic blu ray player.”

Hi AceHunter, Thank you for your inquiry. We definitely recommend getting this model. The UBPX700 4K player is backward compatible, which means aside from playing 4K Bluray discs, it can also play regular Bluray and DVD discs. So even if you don't own a 4K TV, this unit should work perfectly with your current setup. -Sam
