• If you enable Auto instead of PCM in the digital audio setup it will send out the highest level audio your sound system can process up to Dolby Atmos. I am doing doing 7.4.2 through a Denon receiver without any problems. Will also do SACD but not Auro.

• Yes it does as long as the disc/streaming material is encoded at 5.1 or 7.1, and your source is capable of playing 5.1/7.1 I got my connected to an A/V receiver and it switches automatically to 5.1.2 (my current configuration) by default it selects the best audio output depending on what you got your audio connected.
