That's how mine works, so I would say that's by design and not a defect.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's not defective, its just that the player is in streaming mode, so it is keeping the other features from accidentally stopping your stream. When you close the tray the device would begin reading that source. It won't know there isn't a disc until it reads there isn't one, but to do so it has to stop its other functionalities. My older Panasonic Blu-Ray was the same way. Just curious though, why you would use this device for streaming? There isn't a 4K TV out there that isn't smart, unless your using a projector setup.
