It's interesting that some players have a bit of trouble with certain discs. I have an older SONY Blu-Ray player that sometimes says the disc is "invalid". If I eject the disc, sometimes it takes a few times, it will play. So far my experience with the UBP-X700 is every disc has played. With the "Quick Start Mode" enabled, it fires up immediately. I did have a 1-2 second image "blackout" when I first got it so I made sure it had the latest update (which it did) but that was still an issue so I did a factory reset and since then, I have had no playback issues with Blu-Ray or regular DVD's. I have not had an opportunity to play a 4K disc yet so I'm hoping there will be no problems there either. Good luck!
