Hello Oldschoolgranny, Are you looking for a DVD/Blu-Ray player or VCR Player? If you're looking for a DVD/Blu-Ray Player. If you're looking for a VCR player, you may find it hard to find one and most likely will be costly. If you're looking for a DVD/Blu-Ray player; LG, Sony and Samsung make good players, Samsung will be the most expensive. but makes great players. LG and Sony are about the same, they are good as well. If you want a player that is going to give you the most for the money, make sure the player you get has the correct connection for your Television. Also get one with Wi-Fi streaming, it will allow you to use the player to view on-ling content as well. like; Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime and other streaming services. If you get one on sale and paid less then a couple hundred dollar, (I do not suggest getting an added warranty). Good luck on and best wishes for the holidays to you and your family.
